Software - The Science Bit!

In contrast to hardware, software is really the life blood of your computer. If Hardware is our bones and muscles, software is the blood and the organs.

There are many types of software, so I really need to simplify this as best as I can without making you switch off your computer in a blind panic.

System software is installed into your computer which allows it to work, and for you to use your computer and programs such as Word, Email, Internet. Some software is automatically installed into your computer or device when you purchase it, or you can buy further upgraded software, such as anti virus software and word processing packages.

The programs run on your computer and make your computer useful to you.
